To raise more funds for MIND during the upcoming 24 hour golf challenge we have decided to have a competition to run alongside the golfing. As most of you know we are playing Texas Scramble for 24hours on 21st June and for a small donation can you guess how many total strokes we will take whilst completing the 16 rounds? There will be 3-4 of us playing and its a total of 144 holes which is a PAR of 544 for one person playing. To guess is £2 a go or 3 goes for £5, just donate online at the link on the picture below and email us with you guess at email@example.com.
We have some great prizes for the closest ones, there is a half hour golf lesson kindly donated by Matt Vineer, vouchers for 9 holes as well the adventure golf, all at Lymington Golf Centre as well as many other prizes.
All monies raised go to MIND, the mental health charity, which is a great charity to support, particularly in the current climate, any support will be greatly appreciated.
Its just over 4 weeks until the 24hr Golf Challenge when Lee will play Texas Scramble for 24 hours and hopes to complete 16no 9 hole rounds at Lymington Golf Centre.
There are a few sponsors on board who are sponsoring a round of golf each for a very generous donation to MIND, if you would like to get involved and join them please let us know through the contact page.
MIND do amazing work and during this pandemic, millions of us have experienced a mental health problem, or seen a loved one struggle. And we’ve seen that the support we all need just isn’t out there. For them, for us and for you – we must take this chance to step up the fight for mental health. That means fighting for change, for fairness, for respect and for life-changing support.
We have agreed the date for our next challenge, 21st/22nd June 2021, to play Texas Scramble golf for 24hours, non-stop. The plan is to play 16 rounds of 9 hole golf from 7pm on 21st June to 7pm on 22nd June this year.
To be held at Lymington Golf Centre who have kindly allowed us use of the course, all to raise funds for MIND mental health charity.
We are looking for sponsors, corporate and individual for the event, please contact us if you are interested. Also, if you would like to take part and do a round or two, or three or however many you want, let us know. Lee will be playing all 16 rounds and is looking for players to join him for support and to make it a 3 or 4 ball.
Finally, February is complete and so are we with our challenge to raise funds for NHS Charities. The team from Building IS set out to do 150miles each, Gary was running and cycling, Geoff was cycling and Lee was indoor rowing the same distance (240km) we all made a good start and realised that the targets for the cyclists were a bit too easy so we increased them to 240miles to relate to the 240km Lee was doing on his rowing machine.
Yesterday was our final day and we have all smashed our targets:-
Gary has cycled 280miles and Run 20, making a great total of 300miles!
Geoff has beaten his target and cycled 282miles in total!
Lee also beat my target by rowing 280km which is 174miles!
We want to thank you all for the support over the month, you can still donate to this great cause on the link below.
Thought I would give you all an update on our challenge to raise funds for the NHS Charities.
A huge thanks to those that have donated so far, we are currently at £900 which is amazing!
We are just over half way (day 18) and go into our final week next week, so far we are all making good progress and should hit our targets, when we do we will not stop, the plan is to see how far over we can go!
I have covered 164km of my 240km target on the indoor rowing machine in the last 17 days.
Gary has cycled and run 156miles so far and Geoff has cycled 164miles.
For those of you who are desperate to donate and support us and the amazing NHS in these extreme times the link to our just giving page is below.
Week one of the challenge to cover 450 miles in February for NHS Charities is going well, so far Lee has rowed 73km (45miles) Gary has covered 61miles with a mix of cycling and running and Geoff has covered 64miles on his bike. Whilst we are making good progress Gary and Geoff have the weather to contend with whilst Lee just has a lot to cover on a rowing machine. They have raised over £500 so far, their target is £2000 so please help them by donating if you can, the link is below
We have decided to do a quick, off the cuff challenge in honour of the NHS and its heroes! Lee, Gary and Geoff from Building Integrated Services Ltd are going to complete 450miles between during February, each in their own way.
Lee is going to indoor row his 150miles (240km) whilst Gary is going to combine running and cycling for 150miles, Geoff will be doing his 150miles by cycling, regular updates will be posted on here.
Building IS have been proud to be working with the NHS to create ward space at the start of the pandemic as well as creating vaccine centres over the last couple of months, with this in mind the three of us thought it was a good time to give something back to the NHS for all the work they have done during these unusual and stressful times. Please donate if you can using our justgiving page, there is a link on our home page or you can go here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/miles4nhs
